The Top Floor widget for Adobe Muse is a simple but fun widget for getting your site visitors back to the top of the page.
Just click the button and enjoy the ride, complete with authentic piped elevator music. The perfect companion for long single page scrolling sites!
Browse to the location where you downloaded the widget file. Extract the contents of the file. Double-click the .mulib file to import it into the Library. This will launch Muse if it's not already open.
Alternatively, once you’ve unarchived the file, you can import the widget into the library by clicking the Import Muse Library icon at the base of the Library Panel.
Once it's imported the new widget will appear in the Library panel as a folder containing one or more items..
Start by dragging the Top Floor widget onto the design canvas from the Library panel. The widget itself is grouped in with the button. Click the widget's frame <> in the top-right corner to access the settings panel.
Note: the button frame has a specific Graphic Style applied (elevator-button). This must be retained for the widget to work!
Click the Music option to browse for an MP3 or OGG sound file to use for the travelling music. You can use the supplied file, Elevator.mp3, or choose your own.
Click the End Sound option to set the sound to play when the top of the page is reached. Again, you can use the supplied file, ding.mp3, or pick your own.
Note: if the sound files aren't added, the widget will still work, just silently. This means you can still take advantage of the ease in and out feature of the scrolling.
The button images are embedded into the widget as a background fill. You can replace them with your own by selecting the different states in the States Panel and adjusting the size and fitting as required.
That's all there is to it. You can now preview the page and publish when you're happy with the result.
