The Sellfy Ecommerce widget for Adobe Muse gives you the ability to sell digital goods, such as ebooks, artwork, design resources and much more, straight from your website. Buyers can securely purchase items using credit cards and PayPal without the need to sign up to a separate account.
Setting up your store is easy: just sign up for a free Sellfy account, add your product codes to the widget, set the options and you’re ready to sell!
Browse to the location where you downloaded the widget file. Extract the contents of the file. Double-click the .mulib file to import it into the Library. This will launch Muse if it's not already open.
Alternatively, once you’ve unarchived the file, you can import the widget into the library by clicking the Import Muse Library icon at the base of the Library Panel.
Once it's imported the new widget will appear in the Library panel as a folder containing one or more items..
Before you start, if you don’t have one already, you'll need to set up a seller's account on Sellfy. This is completely free and can be done in minutes. Once you have your account, you can add your products and you'll be ready to start using the widget.
Once you've added some products to your Sellfy store, you can begin adding them to your site. Drag and drop the Sellfy E-commerce widget from its folder in your library onto the page.
For demonstration purposes, the widget is set to display one of Sellfy's example projects using the standard button style. This is to give you an idea of how it looks.
The first field in the widget options is where you enter the unique product ID. You can find this at the end of the product's URL by clicking View Product from the Sellfy dashboard.
You can change the way your visitors purchase your products using the Checkout Mode option.
The default option is Popup Overlay (shown here). This opens a lightbox panel on the same page where your visitors can choose their payment options and make the purchase without leaving your site*.
The second option is to open the Full Product Page in the browser. This replaces the current page, or you can instruct your visitors to hold Cmd/Ctrl to force it open in a new tab or window.
*Note: If the person chooses to pay by PayPal, they will be taken to the product page on Sellfy after purchasing or if they cancel the transaction. This is something set up by Sellfy and cannot be altered.
If you prefer, you can add your own button image to blend it into your site design.
To do this, select Custom Button Image from the Button Style options. Click Add File next to the Button Image option. Select your image - this can be a .jpg, .png or a .gif. The widget will automatically resize to accommodate the new image.
Although the button itself does not support different states, you can use it in conjunction with Muse's built-in State Button, where you could use a different colour background or background image for the rollover and mouse down states. Just remember not to add anything above the widget, as that will prevent it working.
