The Email this Page widget for Adobe Muse is a great way for your visitors to share you site content by email with friends and colleagues.
Add the widget to the page, customise it to suit your design. Choose to display and icon or just a link. When the icon or link is clicked, a new mail message with your predefined text and a link to the current page is opened using the default email application.
Browse to the location where you downloaded the widget file. Extract the contents of the file. Double-click the .mulib file to import it into the Library. This will launch Muse if it's not already open.
Alternatively, once you’ve unarchived the file, you can import the widget into the library by clicking the Import Muse Library icon at the base of the Library Panel.
Once it's imported the new widget will appear in the Library panel as a folder containing one or more items..
Start by dragging the widget onto the design canvas from the Library panel. The widget's options panel will automatically open.
The first option gives you the option to hide the icon, leaving just the text link. We've left it checked for this example.
First we'll change the colour of the icon. Click the colour chip next to the Icon Colour label to open the swatch panel. You can choose any colour here, or you can remove the fill to only leave the outlines, allowing the backround to show through.
The next option is Icon Size. There are 4 options: Small, Medium (the default size), large and extra large. We've chose the small size here.
You can set the link text to something of your own choosing. Type this into the Button Text field. The widget will update when you hit Enter or click away from the field.
The default subject for the email is the title of the page. If you want to change this, click the Custom subject line option and type in your new subject into the Email subject field.
The last setting is Mail Message. This lets you change the wording that will appear in the body text of the email. This will be added above the page link in the message. If this is not entered, the body will only contain the link.
The last part of the setup is to change the style of the text link to fit the design.
Make sure the widget's frame is active. Go over to the Text panel. Choose the font, set the size and colour to suit. Finally, use one of your hyperlink presets to define how the link will appear.
